Fix compile with OpenSSL 0.9.8b from -CURRENT.

Note the fix wrt. OPENSSL_VERSION_NUMBER isn't optimal, but the best way
since base system versions of OpenSSL 0.9.7 don't define OPENSSL_THREADS
even though threads should be supported.
